Finally it was time for our small vacation. All 6 girls were on time for the first time because when it comes to going on trips and seeing new places nothing could stop us!!

We got an evening flight to Pune from Chennai - that is were we all stay (We - 6 girls, ex-college mates turned flatmates). In Pune we were staying with our friend who had recently moved there.

Yes, it was a very short trip, well, getting leave from work is always hard.

Day 1 - Korigad Fort, Lonavla, Maharashtra - Hiking

We reached Pune at night and the next day, early morning we started off to Lonavla. It was about 2 hrs drive from Pune. We hired a taxi and by the time we reached there it was raining, but since it was rainy season we were prepared.

It was a small hike made a little hard by the rains, but full of fun and greenery around. Finally we reached the top and I have to tell you, for a moment all of us were mesmerized, it was like heaven - no, I am not being dramatic. There was a small pond on the top, the cool breeze and the view - breath taking.
At one moment the place was full of fog and the next, clear as glass! (you can see that in the pics)


Day 2 - Mumbai, Maharashtra - Site seeing, Shopping

Next day we took a cab to Mumbai. The drive on Mumbai-Pune expressway was very scenic.

Visited Gateway of India, went on a shopping spree in Fashion street and Colaba Causeway. You need to bargain and I am not really good at it, there are really great and cheap jewelry, handbags, chappals and dresses here.

By evening we started back to Pune. We were stuck for more than 3 hrs in nearly standstill traffic in Mumbai city and so it was quite late night by the time we reached Pune.

Day 3 - Laxmi street and Osho Ashram, Pune, Maharashtra -  Site seeing, Shopping
09 August 2010

The day started with little shopping, city seeing and then we headed to Osho's Ashram. Osho's Ashram is a quiet place for a nice stroll.

Then it was time for goodbyes, flight back was in the evening.
